The British Empire has had a great and lasting influence on huge parts of the world, not only politically and economically, but also on the culture of Britain and the countries colonised by Britain. Attitudes to the Empire vary, and the texts in this theme will explore some of them, both positive and negative. The importance of Empire today will also be explored through Brexit.
