Hello! My name is Sarah Wolfe and I am a current student here at UMUC. Prior to starting at UMUC I was enrolled a local community college for approximately ten years taking one class at a time and finally ending up with my Associates of Arts degree in general studies. Education is important to me and my love for education can be expressed through one of my favorite quotes: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” –Nelson Mandela. No matter what I do in life, I want to use my education to change the world, and help others obtain their education.

I graduated in May 2014 with my Bachelors in Cybersecurity, and a minor in Homeland Security. I’m now enrolled in the Masters in Cybersecurity program here at UMUC, and will also be obtaining a M.B.A. and a Cybersecurity Policy Certificate; followed by obtaining my PhD in business management (or cybersecurity if offered at that point) at UMUC.

Since enrolling here at UMUC I have maintained a 4.0 average, while maintaining a family and full-time job. I am also a member of the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society, the National Society of Leadership and Success, The Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, and the Upsilon Phi Epsilon Honor Society. Also, I volunteer through Alpha Sigma Lambda as an Allies Mentor and currently have five students that I am working with to ensure their experience at UMUC is optimal. In addition, I am a recipient of the National Engaged Leader Award through the National Honor Society of Leadership and Success. I have also been allotted scholarships and grants through various societies here at UMUC- so thank you to all of those who work tirelessly to ensure we can have an education.

This journey of mine could not be possible without the love, consideration, understanding, patience, and other verbose adjectives of the following people: Hannah- the most understanding and kind daughter in the world, my fiancé Mike- for everything, my parents, Cheryl & Terry-for the endless words of encouragement, internet access, help with Hannah and etc. etc. etc., every single one of my family members- for all of understanding during “school time,” every single one of my friends- again, for all of your understanding during “school time,” and last, but not least, all of the staff at UMUC- without you, my journey would not be possible.
