Ricardo Cosme, Fall 2017 Tau Chapter Inductee

Currently pursuing: Master of Science in Cybersecurity Technology

I am one of the first in my family to obtain an Associate’s Degree, a Bachelor’s Degree and now a Master’s Degree. I have worked full-time while being a full-time student since 2016 which has not been an easy task. It has been a journey for me to achieve my goals and I have never given up. I graduated Summa Cum Laude in May 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Networks and Cybersecurity and a minor in Homeland Security from UMGC. In July 2018, I then began my Masters in Cybersecurity Technology which I will be graduating with in December of 2019. My plans for the future include continuing my education beginning in January of 2020 for a Masters Degree in Business Administration for Information Technology. Throughout my education I have been able to achieve my goals through hard work, dedication, and determination. I am so grateful for being chosen to receive this scholarship.

Stephanie Gabay, Fall 2012 Tau Chapter Inductee

Currently pursuing: Bachelor's degree in human resource management

Thank you for the scholarship. I am so excited to continue my education. This has been a dream of mine for a couple of years and now I am finally going for it. I am looking forward to a career change and work in human resources. I have been working as a legal secretary for a number of years and would like to change careers.

Michelle Manley, Spring 2016 Tau Chapter Inductee

Currently pursuing: Bachelor's degree with a double major in Computer Networks and Cybersecurity & Cybersecurity Management and Policy

I just want to say thank you very much for my scholarship. Just when I wondered where the money was going to come from for my second semester, I discovered that I received it. It has been my dream to get my bachelor’s degree and with only a couple years left to go, I don't want to give up no matter what.

I have two sons, 25 and 14 and I live in Kansas City, MO. I am currently in remission for cancer and just celebrated my first year for it. We caught it time and so far, all my scans have come back 'good', which I'm very happy for.

I am a contractor and work for a cybersecurity company that is contracted by the USDA to monitor their networks. I have been working in cybersecurity for over 2 years now and I'm able to apply my education.

I enjoy reading, music, ice-skating, art, going to museums and exhibits, concerts, movies, amusement and water parks, shopping, and going back to school. I also like gourmet cooking, sports of any kind, whether watching them or playing them, camping, fishing, traveling, and horseback riding and any other fun thing to do.
