Danika Almaguer, Spring 2017 ASL InducteeHello, I’m Danika! I’m a full-time student at UMUC, my major is in marketing with a minor in business administration. My graduation date is set for May 2018. After completing my bachelor’s degree, I plan to continue my education into a master’s degree. My career goals include working for a reputable marketing firm and impacting the marketing industry in a positive way.

Andrew Diehl, Spring 2016 ASL InducteeMy family and I are extremely grateful for this generous scholarship and we thank you for this opportunity. I have been with UMUC since 2014, majoring in the computer networks and security bachelor’s degree program, with a minor in cybersecurity. Currently, I am in my final two courses, with a 3.9 GPA, and an anticipated graduation date of December 2017. Upon graduation, I plan to pursue a master’s degree, either in information management or cybersecurity. With the help of this bachelor’s degree and a future master’s degree, I plan to advance my career within the IT field. Ultimately, I would like to be in a position to pass on my knowledge while guiding other IT professionals in their careers.

Tonimaria Hawkins

Ever since I was twelve years old, I developed a love interest in writing. While I was in high school, I used my free time to read fiction and nonfiction books and studied poetry. In the beginning, I started off with writing short horror stories during my freshmen and sophomore year in high school. As I got older, I developed an adhesive skill in writing. My major is in communications, and my career goals include becoming a Communications Associate. I will be graduating in May 2018.

Masayo Shepherd, Fall 2016 ASL InducteeI’m happy to learn that I’m a recipient of the Tau Chapter Scholarship. I transferred from Montgomery College in 2014, and I’m expected to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in digital media & web technology in May 2018. I’ve been a college student for almost 8 years, and because I’m a single mother of two children and English is my second language, I’ve almost lost my patience to continue at UMUC. However, when I received the wonderful news that I’m a recipient of this scholarship, not only was I overjoyed, but I was able to focus on my education once again and pursue my goal to become a web designer.

Receiving this scholarship motivates me to complete my education at UMUC. Thank you for helping me to achieve my goal with your generosity.
