Cinzia Spinzi

Cinzia Spinzi is Associate Professor at the University of Bergamo. She holds a PhD in English for Specific Purposes from the University of Napoli, Federico II and a Master’s in Translation Studies from the University of Birmingham.

Her research interests include language/cultural mediation and Corpus Linguistics applied to the study of ideology and metaphors in specialised communication, with a particular focus on political, diplomatic and tourism discourses.

Cinzia Spinzi ha conseguito il Dottorato in Inglese per Scopi Speciali presso l’Università di Napoli Federico II e un Master in Translation Studies presso l’Università di Birmingham. Ha ottenuto una Research fellowship presso la City London University.

I suoi ambiti di ricerca riguardano lo studio dell’ideologia e della metafora nei linguaggi specifici (Linguaggio politico, diplomatico e turistico) attraverso l'applicazione della linguistica dei corpora, la traduzione e la mediazione cross-culturale.
