2021 Distinguished University Scholar

Late in 2020, our unit became eligible to be included in the nomination process for the Distinguished University Scholar Award administered by the Office of Research. In early 2021, I was lucky enough to be selected by my home unit as a nominee.

Since this was the first time for the unit and first attempt for me, both my unit and I needed to learn the process and obtain all the necessary documentations. In late January 2021, we submitted the nomination.

Due to the collaboration and support of several of my professional colleagues I was awarded the 2021 Distinguished University Scholar Award on Apr 22, 2021 during the virtual ceremony. I dedicate this award to the support from my family, colleagues, and peers. This award is also recognition of the work done by people at the scientific core facilities throughout FSU and other institutions.
