I was invited to be present for a Community-wide Interfaith
service for Thanksgiving at the Sanctuary at Temple Israel by Pastor
Sally Campbell-Evans and Rev McKibben of Big Bend Hospice. This
was the Interfaith Service's 26th year celebration and I was glad to be
present at the service. People from several faith came to the service.
The estimated crowd was around 300-400 people. Clergy from several faith
spoke, reflected, and sang about the meaning of Thanksgiving and
God's mercy on us. I read verses from Thirukkural about "Praise of God", "Gratitude", and "Hospitality". At the end of the service, I was glad to be present among so many people sharing their faith and speaking about mine. It was a humbling experience to speak in front of such a large and receptive gathering. Last updated: Nov 30, 2008. |
