2016 Digitech

FSU Conference Center

Wednesday, March 30, 2016, 1:30 to 3:30 PM | Florida Conference Center

I together with Mike Z. participated in the FSU's Digitech 2016 event for the first time. I came to know about this event through my interest in FSU's 3D-Priting Working Group. This event is called Innovating with Technology and is sponsored by FSU’s Program in Interdisciplinary Computing. Several participants of this event were students. However, Mike and I participated as a team from Institute of Molecular Biophysics, as department display. We brought our SRI (Simple Robotic Imager) for displaying and demonstrating its capabilities.

In our table we had a 96-reservoir-2 well and 96-reservoir-3 well ARI Intelliplates, Brand 96 well plates, 24-reservoir cell culture plates along with our robot and Mac Book. We programed the software so that the robot will run continuously while displaying the images on the MacBook's screen. Many visitors stopped by our booth and asked questions. We had a very good response and we are planning to come next year with an upgraded version of our robot.
