We celebrated the Ninth Annual Experience Asia Festival 2013 (EAF2013), on Saturday, October 12, 2013 between 10:00 AM and 5:30 PM at Bloxham and Lewis Parks located at the intersection of Park Avenue and Monroe Street. Tallahassee being a college town with an ACC (FSU) and MEAC (FAMU) football teams, EAF2013 was scheduled on a Saturday without a home football game. The event was free and open to public and attracted record crowds of 17,000+ people. Our featured performers came from Orlando (Matsuriza Taiko Drummers), Tampa (Philippines Performing Arts Company) and Pensacola.

This is the first year for me as Chairman of Asian Coalition of Tallahassee and therefore the responsibility was higher for me. Fortunately, I had many executive board members' help in putting the event together. In addition there were several student (college and high school) volunteers.

This year we also had media sponsors like WTXL-TV 27 HD (local ABC affiliate) and Tallahassee Democrat (Gannett Group) and media partners like WFSU-TV (local PBS) and WFSU-Radio (local NPR) and Star 98.9 (Cumulus commercial radio). We had 32 performers and demonstrators on two combined stages. The opening ceremony was held at 12 Noon with Mayor and First Lady of Tallahassee participating. We also debuted the ACT Theme song. Overall the Festival went very well.
