Thu, April 13, 2017, KIN 3075, 9-11 AM

Honors in the Major is program offered at Florida State University to all undergraduate students during their Junior or Senior years. The students need to complete a research project with a faculty member and will typically need six to nine credit hours on 4000 Level course.

At the completion of 1 1/2 or 2 years of lab work mostly 8-10 hours a week the students need to prepare a thesis submit it and will be examined for three faculty (including one who is their faculty mentor). Following the submission of thesis, the students have to present their work in a seminar (open to everyone) and take questions. Following the open seminar, the students will be asked project specific question by the faculty examiners in a closed session.

Successful defending of the presentation and thesis will allow the student to graduate 'with honors' in their major.
