Ok This is the first step ...... nice and easy ........ Create a New Drawing .....
(the menus may look slightly different to this on your version ,,,,, but I am using only the basic options here)
I will add more later and include files and script links .... to make it easy ......

We should now have this on the screen - are we ok upto just ?
This is the selection menu ..... we will start very simply by drawing a face on the screen .... select the brush and create a smiley face by drawing with the mouse.
