Just to make sure that we are both looking at the same screen and setup .... You should have something that looks like the picture above ..... (What we see is the top view of a cube and the - black round circle is a light) If not post me a screen shot of yours .... and I will try to make mine look exactly the same ...

________________________________________________________________

Once we have that .... we will take the quickest route to adding your photo of choice onto a 3D sphere

______________________

The basic steps ........ First just check the render function works by pressing F12 .....

this should render a very simple 3D cube blue background and very simple grey render shown below ...........

(do not be put off by this ..... it will become more apparent as we proceed) .....

presuming the cube is still on the screen as shown above ....

1. To remove the cube - which always appears by default -

(unless you save your default settings with it removed - it will always appear)

2. Middle mouse button - hold it down and move your mouse - used for looking around in the 3D environment .....

3. Click anywhere in the middle of the 3D workspace i.e on the grid How to remove the cube

(select the cube use the right mouse button) now press (shift + x)

Once we get here ..... we will continue ......

( if photojojo are ok with this to appear on this thread I will continue it here ,,,, if not ... I can create a seperate web page and link to that ..... someone let me know ,,,,, and I am more than willing to accommodate the wishes of this site ,,,,, because up to now it is brilliant ...... )

The next step is add UV sphere .... default settings are just fine ....
