around The Coast of Scotland

A journey that happened in 2004 - An interesting experience giving me a insight into how friendly the Scottish People are .........

• My start place in England camping at Harmby near Leyburn a expensive campsite but later to find the better - Pheasant Pub Campsite

  • A quick stop on the way to stretch My Legs with the bike fully loaded

  • My First problem No campsites around Perth - but luckily a Scottish Bagpipe maker lets me use his field for camping in

• Unpacking the bike and meeting a Scottish Helicopter Engineer - later having a ride around the Scottish countryside in his Sportscar

  • A view across the campsite with the mountains in the background - this was a little campsite on the way to Kingussie in Scotland

  • Picture taken just after setting my tent up at this campsite- The mountains in the distance.

• This is a view of one of the bridges I crossed - Kessock Bridge - near Inverness with the mist just rolling in down the Firth River

  • This is just a view of a boat close by the Firth stood out of the water.

  • It surprised me at how flat the land became on the way up to John O Groats- with the mountains visible well into the distance

  • Moving Higher up North now and the weather is starting to change more mist and a bit cooler although nice for August- No Rain

  • Seems a long way from Hull - where I have come from to here and a view back along the road

  • And a long way still to go - to get all the way around the Tip of Scotland and back down the West Coast- still to come

• Now the countryside changes again undisturbed and desolate no wires to ruin the skyline just beautiful countryside

  • Now getting closer to the coast and nearer to John O Groats - a few small boats sit in a quiet harbour

  • Next stop John O Groats I can just see it in the distance

• John O Groats - now it feels good to be almost at the Tip of Scotland - I have never been here before so everything is new

  • I am slightly surprised - I am not sure what I expected but it is really quiet and not what I expected
