Bear Ear Tags

As thoughts of bear hunting ramp up, Doug Wonders of the greater Brainerd, Minn., area came across this bruin with ear
tags: "I contacted the DNR to see if they could give me some info on him. His name is R2180. He was born in Camp Ripley,
which is 20-25 miles from where he is now," Wonders, who calls the bear Ripley, said in an email."

Jeffrey Schneider 2 tags that's not a good thing for that bear,that MN ears the dnr trapped him twice, the third time they put him down.

A number of years ago I got a bear with red tag in his ear #2 on it, they said he was a cub when tagged in the den with his mother who was also tagged. The mother had been a trouble maker and was being watched because of the human contact she had.
