RobotFest 2009 photos

04/25/2009

Hello to all. Today's RobotFest 2009 at the National Electronics Museum in Linthicum MD was a great success as we have been asked to perform there again at the 2010 RobotFest. Today's event had an attendance of 1100 people & quite a few of them came by to see us in the museum's library. This is the 1st time that we've been invited to play at a robot festival. There were quite a few interesting robots there such as working models of the B9 robot from the tv series LOST IN SPACE as well as four working models of R2D2 from STAR WARS.

I have about seven robots myself so this was a real treat for me to see some other robots. I was supposed to bring my Heathkit HERO 1 robot but it was too much for me to carry along with my electronic music equipment so maybe I'll try to bring it in 2010.

You'll see photos of Greg Kist on his MiniMoog Voyager synthesizer, Dave Vosh on his Doepfer & two custom-built analog modular synthesizers, Hal Schmulowitz on his Korg R3 & Kurweil synthesizers, Keith Sinzinger on his circuit-bent toy synthesizers, Art Harrison on his Theremin that he designed including some other electronic music devices that he designed, and then there are my Moog Music MF-107/MF-101/MF-102 & CP-251 MoogerFooger series synthesizer effects pedals, my Doepfer A-100 mini analog synthesizer & my old standby the Roland SH-101 analog synthesizer keyboard.

There's also a photo of my 1st grandchild, Jaila Mitchell who I affectionately call Chubby Butt, in front of my MoogerFooger pedals.

Keith Sinzinger (FastForty) has posted some short videos of the group on his YouTube website at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ml-NlPbhBFA. Click on "More From: FortyFast" to see the rest. Thanks Keith.

One of the visitors to the RobotFest, Curt Welch, sent me his website link that shows photos of the robots & some shots of our group at http://picasaweb.google.com/Curt.Welch/20090425RobotFest09#. Thanks Curt.

We all had a great time & are looking forward to doing another event like this real soon. I took 68 still photos & 11 short videos today, so I've uploaded 55 of them & 1 video showing Art, Hal, Dave, Keith & Dave playing their instruments in the ATTACHMENTS area below. Hope you like the photos.
