American Visionary Art Museum show 07102008 photos

This was a unique performance that we did next to the giant outdoor movie screen at the American visionary Art Museum located on Key Highway next to the Inner Harbor here in Baltimore MD. We were invited by museum employee & Baltimore SDIY Group member Joe Wall to do a performance just before they showed the classic movie Close Encounters Of The Third Kind (CE3K).

A picture of Joe in the museum's parking lot appears on this website. It was a very hot day, even at 6:00 pm, and he was kind enough to put up some small tents for us to block the sun. The group members at this show were me on Roland SH-101 & Yamaha CS-01 analog synthesizers, Dave Vosh on his "Franktronium" & Doepfer analog synthesizers, Hal Schmulowitz on Yamaha DX-7, Korg R-3 & Yamaha DX-200 digital synthesizers, Art Harrison on his self-designed Theremin, Kevin Buckholdt on Casio SK-1 mini keyboard, Ted Zook on electric bass cello & Joe Wall on ARP Axxe analog synthesizer.

We played for about 1-1/4 hours & ended the show by playing our version of the CE3K theme just before the showing of the featured movie. Despite the hot sun we all had a good time.
