Assign the following altitudes to departing IFR aircraft:
All north flow departures filed above 9,000 feet must be assigned 9,000 feet and to expect filed altitude 15 NM from SEA.
All south flow departures filed above 7,000 feet must be assigned 7,000 feet, and to expect filed altitude 15 NM from SEA.
If filed altitude is below 9,000 in north flow, or 7,000 in south flow, assign filed altitude.
Use climb via SID phraseology on everything EXCEPT the SEA#, and SUMMA# in South Flow
SeaTac has 9 departure procedures: a mix of Pilot Nav, Radar vector, and Hybrid SIDs.
Assign IFR departures a SID based on their aircraft group and route/direction of flight per the S46-SEA LOA, Attachment 5. The aircraft groups are defined in Attachment 8:
Group A: Jet Aircraft, except Cirrus Vision Jet (SF50).
Group B: Aircraft with true airspeeds (TAS) greater than 200 knots.
Group C: Aircraft with TAS between 150 and 200 knots.
Group D: Aircraft with TAS of 150 knots or less.
Start by finding the aircraft's initial route or the approximate SEA radial they will depart on. If there are multiple entries for the same radials/route, check the STARS Gate column or Route for altitude and aircraft Group criteria.
Once you identify the applicable row, assign the SID listed for this row. This may depend on whether SEA is in north or south flow.
The departure sector (and therefore frequency) will also be determined by this table.
