The first position we'll cover at SEA is the Flight Data position. This position has no radio frequency and is responsible for flight strips and PDCs.
Print and mark flight strips using vStrips. See the S1 Module 2 guide on flight strips for how these should be marked.
The scratchpad is automatically set per the scratchpad rules.
Check that the correct SID is assigned to the aircraft and determine the initial altitude that should be assigned.
Issue PDCs via vTDLS. Review the S1 Module 4 content on how to use it.
There are only three types of changes you can make to a flight plan at SEA and still issue a PDC:
Revision to DP/SID that reconnects to the filed route (e.g. change SEA8 to MONTN2)
Revision to route required by a letter of agreement (LOA).
The cleared route is a preferred route contained in the vZSE preferred routing database (ZSE PRD).
Reminder: unless there is a specific issue with the route, you do not need to change to a preferred route!
If you need to make a change that does not fit into one of these types, then you must Dump the plan from vTDLS and push the flight strip to Clearance Delivery to issue a voice clearance.
Leave the climbout instructions blank as those are issued by Local.
This position will most commonly be staffed during events.
