About Mr. Buchanan

My name is Devon Buchanan, but my students call me "Coach". Why? Because....I believe it's my job to be more than just their teacher: I am a friend, motivator, and confidant when they need it. I am not here to tell them what they want to hear, but what they need to hear.

I am a 13 year educator, but I have been in youth development for 17 years. My first job working with young people was at the YMCA. It was there, that I realized my calling, to help lead the next generation of "game changers".

I am also the Founder and Executive Director of one of Philadelphia's leading youth development organizations, The FOCUS Youth Network. FOCUS stands for "Finding Ourselves Creates Unlimited Success" because I truly believe if you provide youth with extraordinary experiences, you will produce extraordinary individuals.

Lastly, I have been happily married for 5 years with a almost 3 year old daughter named Taylor.

Our young people are capable of so much, if they are given the opportunity to truly find out who they truly are, because "Finding Ourselves Creates Unlimited Success".
