About Mrs. Brennan

Hi! I'm Mrs. Brennan and welcome to my about me page!

I am the 8th grade Computer Science teacher for all 4 homerooms. I also teach 8th grade Science for Georgetown and Howard. This is my 5th year as an educator and my 3rd year at YSCS. I am passionate about supporting students in critical thinking, problem solving, and making connections to the world around them.

I have a passion for hands-on learning!

If I can put materials in students hands to help them learn and gain knowledge, I will! I believe experience and creation is the best way to learn.

I love spirit weeks and school pride!

Any opportunity to be silly by wearing my PJs or making my hair into a snow woman, I will take! I love the community and bonding we have as a school at these special times.

Outside of school, I enjoy costume designing and special effects makeup!

It's just a hobby but I love to be creative and come up with costume ideas and designs for events like Halloween or costume parties. If I can make it or "paint" it, I will!

I am a proud cat mom to my cat, Olive!

Olive is just over a year old and she is my baby! I can be found binging my favorite shows and snuggling with this sweetie pie on the couch in my free time.

Christmas is a big deal in my house!

Above you can see my husband dressed as Santa and the decorations we put up to celebrate. In our house, Christmas happens all year since Santa, snowmen, reindeer, and more are a part of our every day décor.

I had a pandemic wedding!

In July of 2020, I got married during the pandemic. It was so nice to have my family and friends come together (SAFELY!) to celebrate my husband and I.
