Read more to learn a little bit about me...
I have been a Leader at Young Scholars since 2018! I work closely with teachers to support them with lesson planning, best teaching practices, and data analysis! Together, we work to identify the strengths of each scholar and their areas of growth, so that each teacher is equipped to help students master skills, content, and their understanding of all subject areas. I want to make sure every scholar feels prepared for high school and has a strong sense of who they are and what they plan to accomplish! While at Young Scholars, I hope that students complete assignments and projects that are meaningful to them, their identities, and their futures. I hope that our students graduate feeling empowered to use all that they learned to make our community and world a better place!
I grew up outside Washington DC and moved to New York for college. I received by BA from the University of Rochester and MA from Teachers' College. I began my teaching career as a 10th grade global history teacher in the Bronx. I loved teaching history and working with students to see connections between the past and present.
Since I moved to Philly, I enjoy exploring the city, the food, the history, and the culture with my family! My favorite activity is traveling around the world, meeting new people, and trying new things!
