The Principles of Instruction

The Principles of Instruction are based off of Barak Rosenshine's research into cognitive science for instruction. This focuses on universal aspects of teaching - questioning, practice & building knowledge.

In this model, there are 4 very clear strands which will be looked into during this session:

• Retrieving material

• Questioning

• Explaining and modelling

• Practice
