The Enhance Digital Teaching Platform
Mandatory Digital Skills Online CPD
Mandatory Digital Skills Online CPD
It is inevitable that learning and working post COVID-19 will be more blended and digitally enabled than it was before. As a college, we understand that in order to successfully manage this change we need to create a wealth of opportunities for personal and professional development in this area. We have therefore devised a blended learning CPD programme for all staff to develop their essential digital skills and broaden their digital awareness. The Enhance Digital Teaching Platform is just one part of that programme. No matter what your role is within the organisation, it will provide you with a clear development pathway that will map and track your level of confidence and competency in regards to core digital technologies.
The Enhance Digital Teaching Platform from the Education and Training Foundation (ETF) hosts two fully-subsidised training offers to support teachers and trainers in using educational technology (EdTech) and developing their digital skills.
The Essential Digital Skills (EDS) offer - to help ANY member of staff within the college looking to improve their essential digital skills - no matter what your role!
The Educational Technology (EdTech) offer - to help teachers and trainers develop and redefine their practice using technology.

Teaching staff:
Complete modules within the 60-Minute Starter Pack. The starter pack is an interactive PDF that signposts you to 12 specific training modules which have been selected to give you a good overview of the basics. Each module is only five minutes long so if you do them all, it will take you 60 minutes. The deadline is the 6th of September.

• EDS for the Essential Digital Skills offer
• EdTech for the EdTEch offer
• A toggle button
• Login

The toggle button allows you to switch on a dark theme. This will facilitate streaming when connection and bandwidth are poorer. At any time you can return to the home page by clicking the ETF logo.
The platform has a built-in initial self-assessment tool which is designed to help you rate your confidence in relation to the new national standards for Essential Digital Skills. It will also:
Help you to reflect on your existing skills and experience
Identify where you need additional training support and guide you to relevant training modules
Provide you with an EDS capability profile, which will be updated as you progress through the training modules to show your professional development
Open up access to our EDS community of practice
*To start any of the training modules, you will need to complete your self-assessment*
For an explanation of how to complete your self-assessment, please watch the video above (or click this link)
There are 17 confidence sliders to rate yourself, mapped onto the five categories of the national standards. The ratings go from 1 (not very confident) to 7 (very confident). It should take 10-15 minutes to complete.
You can either use the slider to rate your confidence 1 to 7 or you can use the rating statements to guide you. As you click on each rating, you will see a different statement appear. Click ‘View all options’ below the slider to view all the statements at once. If more than one statement applies, choose the lowest scoring statement and start at the suggested point in the module.
As you go through the self-assessment, for each slider, you can also use the comments boxes to add any notes or thoughts you wish to record whilst thinking about your confidence.
