From Graham
As more of you may want to work from home via Remote Access methods, it is worth me communicating a few “do’s and don’ts” to make the system work well for everyone.
Do use Remote Desktop for accessing work files from home.
Don't login to remote desktop and play media, music, video, YouTube, iPlayer, etc.*
Do use Remote Desktop to update Student information on ProMonitor and to access other specialist college applications.
Don't use remote desktop for email, Skype, teams or Google classroom, go straight from your home PC.
Do use the web browser versions of office at Https://portal.office.com and download Skype, etc. Onto your home PC.
Don’t download large files from the Internet; I’m not just talking to IT Services & MIS/Dev teams here but everyone should refrain from downloading large files from the Internet; or if you must, do it out-of-hours.
Regards,
Graham.
