Students recognize the rights, responsibilities and opportunities of living, learning and working in an interconnected digital world, and they act and model in ways that are safe, legal, and ethical. Students:
a. Cultivate and manage their digital identity and reputation and are aware of the permanence of their actions in the digital world.
b. Engage in positive, safe, legal, and ethical behavior when using technology, including social interactions online or when using networked devices.
c. Demonstrate an understanding of and respect for the rights and obligations of using and sharing intellectual property.
d. Manage their personal data to maintain digital privacy and security and are aware of data-collection technology used to track their navigation online.
I believe I met this standard of being a Digital Citizen because I took a video, clipped it so my students only saw relevant information, and shared it with the public. The video included some choice words and topics that I felt weren't appropriate for my intended audience, so I felt it was necessary to cut them out; especially because it was going to be posted online. I managed my digital identity and reputation, I'm aware of my permanence of my actions, I engaged in overall ethical behavior when using Edpuzzle, I understood the respect for the rights of using and sharing someone else's work, and I managed my personal data and my students' personal data to maintain privacy and security when using the data feature in Edpuzzle.
I would use online video assessments to differentiate the way students are learning material while also quizzing them on comprehension. The quizzing would allow me to quickly see which information the students struggle with, which then I could turn into a lesson for students.
