I believe I met this standard of being a Knowledge Constructor because I had to evaluate the relevance of certain data, including the size of my student's school (RHS), the rural setting of Aberdeen, and I needed to know her grade level so I could implement age-appropriate criteria in my class. I also had to locate certain needs for my student because of her background, whether it be personal or academic. I needed to come up with a conclusion as to why and how my subject of English would be relevant to her in both the present and the future, which also leads to exploring real-world issues and problems - both of which I developed ideas and found answers, or solutions, regarding how she could benefit from having an English-related class.
I would use a learner profile through the use of ice-breakers to get to know my students better. In order to understand my students, I need to know who they are as a person and how they learn. By creating a learner profile for each student, I can get to know my students better.
