Students use a variety of technologies within a design process to identify and solve problems by creating new, useful or imaginative solutions. Students:
a. Know and use a deliberate design process for generating ideas, testing theories, creating innovative artifacts or solving authentic problems.
b. Select and use digital tools to plan and manage a design process that considers design constraints and calculated risks.
c. Develop, test, and refine prototypes as part of a cyclical design process.
d. Exhibit a tolerance for ambiguity, perseverance and the capacity to work with open-ended problems.
I believe I met this standard of being an Innovative Designer because I had to use a design process to create my creation. I had to try multiple things to create my finished creation. I used various digital tools to complete my creation and refined as necessary. I exhibited a tolerance for ambiguity, perseverance, and the capacity to work with open-ended problems while putting my mixed media editing together. It was challenging at times, but I did not give up, and I'm proud of my final creation.
I would use mixed medium editing to create a video using audio and visuals to create an interactive video for my students that would be given to them online in the event of a snowstorm, bad weather, or a pandemic. It allows me to give a lecture, explain the activity to go with the lecture, and so much more. It's a good strategy for dealing with distance away from students while also trying to foster learning.
