Career and Technology Studies (CTS)
“strand” is a group of modules
These are the strands that comprise the CTS program choices available for students at LCHS:
In general, 3 credit classes equal 0.5 blocks of time in the timetable and 5 credit classes equal 1.0 blocks of time in the timetable. Grade 10 and 11 students are expected to have a full timetable (no spares), 8.0 blocks.

LEVELS OF ACHIEVEMENT
Introductory level courses are for grade 10s first; Intermediate, grade 11s have first choice; Advanced, grade 12s have first choice.
Introductory (10) level modules help students build daily living skills and form the basis for further learning, Introductory modules are developed for students who have no previous experience in the strand.
Intermediate (20) level modules build on the competencies developed at the introductory level. They provide a broader perspective, helping students recognize the wide range of related career opportunities available within the strand.
Advanced (30) level modules demand a higher level of expertise and help prepare students for entry into the workplace or a related, post-secondary program.
