Humanities Programming
Humanities 10-2: 10 credits [2.0 blocks]
This course is created to assist student learning in the areas of English Language Arts 10-2 and Social Studies 10-2. Humanities 10-2 has been created as a full year course. Throughout the school year, students will use a variety of learning strategies and work in differing classroom environments in order to develop understanding and functional abilities in the areas of English Language Arts and Social Studies. Students will be selected for this course based on their junior high programming and a recommendation by their school. Those interested in Humanities 10–2 must first participate in an interview with Mrs. Yaremchuk, Principal of LCHS for the purpose of registration. Registration in this program will also focus on improving literacy skills. [Sample Course Outline]
Humanities 10-4: 10 credits [2.0 blocks]
This Knowledge and Employability course is created to assist students learning in the areas of English Language Arts 10-4 and Social Studies 10-4. Students will use a variety of learning strategies to develop their reading, writing, and communication skills in the areas of English Language Arts and Social Studies. Students will be selected for this course based on their junior high programming and a recommendation by their school. Those interested in the KAE Program must participate in an interview with either Mrs. Yaremchuk, Principal of LCHS, or Ms. Miller, Inclusion Coach, for the purpose of registration.
