Kelly Field our very own YouTuber spent time with 6 children today talking about her process of creating videos for her YouTube channel - Bright Sparks Arts and Crafts. She has 24 videos available and 1,660 subscribers. Some of her videos have over 66,000 views!
Kelly shared how she got started and the equipment she uses to create a professional looking video. Luckily the equipment is all things that are easy to get hold of at home. Kelly makes a light box using a big cardboard box. By cutting a window in each side and placing a lamp outside each window she can get a nice even light and minimise shadows. By lining the inside of the box with white paper it creates the perfect clean background to photograph on. You can make one that looks a bit like this:
Kelly uses her phone to record the footage and edits it in iMovie.

After we created our thumbnails Kelly taught us how to film a quick video to showcase or creations. It took us a couple of takes to get our creations in the right place, but we quickly mastered it! Here are some photos of us at work-
Once the filming was done, they learned how to import the film footage into iMovie and some of the basic features they could use to edit the footage. They learned about speeding up sections of the footage so people didn't have to watch you complete a process for 10 mins! We added filters and music to our video. Here is our finished clip:
With all of these practical tips and tricks up our sleeve we will be YouTube stars in no time! Thank you Kelly for sharing your knowledge with us!
