In-School Experience

Melissa from St John, came to visit 8 of our younger keen paramedics today to teach them some first aid and show them what happens inside and ambulance and how to keep themselves safe.

The children were trained up in some basic first aid skills so they know how to handle blood noses, sprains, breaks and minor cuts.

They got to try out making 111 calls and learned what happens at the other end of those calls to get the ambulances out to their patients quickly. We also learned that children are a lot better on emergency calls than adults!

Thank you Melissa and St John for teaching us so many great skills. The children have been invited to help out in the sick bay during morning tea and lunch if they would like to help Jane and Bronwyn with minor ailments now they know how!
