Today 10 of our budding netball players had the great fortune of participating in a coaching session with Silver Ferns player Anna Harrison. Anna talked to the girls about her own journey and her experience playing for our national team. She then took the girls through their paces on the courts, warming up, working on passing drills, coordination and speed.
Some of the drills required a lot of concentration and coordination and resulted in a lot of laughter and balls on the loose! Other drills, like toilet tag, needed the ability to stop and change direction at speed. There was a lot of laughing involved in this game also!
Giving great tips along the way, Anna worked with each of the girls to challenge and encourage them. She gave the girls a good understanding of why certain passing techniques were more efficient than the standard chest pass and a few new tricks for their toolbox of skills. They even had time for a game at the end!
Signatures and photos were a must and will be treasured by this group for a long time.
Thank you Anna for giving up your time to help the girls improve their skills and nurture their ambitions!
