Students will use cell phones, iPads, video cameras and more to broadcast information in today’s connected world. Using state of the art facilities, students will be engaged in both field and studio productions and learn how to cover stories in various stages. Multimedia Communication students develop the communication and design knowledge, and practical skills, to strategize, develop, and disseminate messages using an array of design, video, social media, publication and web content tools. Through hands-on classes and project-based learning, students learn to think critically and creatively to solve communication problems, while deepening their understanding of media and its impact on society.
Students are introduced to media campaigns. Learn how to create a powerful message using video, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook,the school's news site BlueEagle News and more!

With Video Productions as a foundation, students will be able to:
Understand and practice media literacy.
Utilize SOLER to create professional methods.
Create student produced television segment.
Define and demonstrate an understanding studio lighting.
Incorporate effective video packages into student produced show.
Present information in a clear, concise and appropriate manner to ensure the video message is effective and appropriate.

Students will complete review of practice assignments to demonstrate an understanding of the equipment and their functions learned from Video Production
Students will conduct interviews to demonstrate proper interviewing technique.
Students will put together a video story packages.
Students will produce a student news show.
Students will create a school-wide campaign of class choice.
Students are assessed on their professionalism.
Students work in groups, and although a group grade may boost up ones average, if a student is not doing any work their grade will reflect that.
This class works successfully with students of all different learning levels. The class is open to freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors.

2017 School-Wide Campaign
The Youth Advisory Board administered a survey to all high school and middle school kids in May of 2017 The results are in! It appears that teens are making good choices! While there is always room for growth, what the data shows is that kids PERCEPTION is not accurate. Many believe that kids are making questionable decisions but in actuality the percentage of students engaging in undesirable activities is low. For example. Students perceive that 75% of the students drink alcohol, the reality? According to the survey, it’s 10%.
Ms. Harris, who is on the youth advisory board, is putting out a challenge to our high school. The winning advisory will win a CATERED breakfast to be served during advisory on December 20th. A CATERED breakfast, that sounds awesome!
