An Architects Influence Assignment
There have been many architects through the ages who have influenced today's architects. For this assignment students will students will research a famous architect and identify the various traits the architect is known for.
Students will incorporate the style of the architect into their own residential design.
Criteria for House Design.
Hand drawn sketch of design must be completed.
House must be 3000 sq.ft. or less
Must include a variety of ways in which architects style was included
Need to build off of architect concepts and create own style
Must include 2 green building concepts
Phase 1
Research an Architect
Students will research a notable architect which inspires them in some way. Student will be able to choose a second architect if they choose to. Research will be completed and a powerpoint presentation will be started.
Create a powerpoint
Include background information of the primary architect along with secondary if appropriate.
Give an overview of the style of the architect
Include pictures of work and bullet points describing work
Include education and awards earned
Identify who this architect was influenced by.
Sketch a design for your house
Rough sketch of floor plans and elevations
Presentation of Architect and Design Idea (under 5 minutes)
Create a presentation of your research
Background information of the architect
Pictures and Explanation of the style and why you chose this architect(s)
Pictures of YOUR rough sketches (scanned in) and define how you expect to incorporate architect style.
Cite your work

Include Perspectives of rooms
Drawing Packet (working drawings) Please staple in the order below.
Include cover with your name and name of famous architect.
Detailed floor plans (basement, first, second, etc.)
