Designing Assistive Technology
What is Assistive Technology?
Problem:
Students will develop an assistive device to make it possible for a person, who has little use of their hands, to transfer large binder flips from a small box to a bigger box without moving their hands.
Steps that need to be accomplished
Currently, this job is performed by employees with high dexterity, as fine motor skills are crucial to efficiency in this task without assistive technology. The R.A.D. makes this process more efficient for employees by minimizing the required dexterity, and making the job more comfortable for all individuals.
