International Day of Yoga #IDY2026
Twelfth International Day of Yoga (#IDY26) was organized by Icon Shakti in cooperation with the Consulate General of India, Chicago, and co-hosted by National India Hub, VYAYAM, VYANJAN, Balodyan, AIM for Seva, Sohum Realty, Association of South Asian Real Estate Professionals, Lake County Ganesh Mandal, Smart Sakhi, Yoga with Komal, HUM-USA, Ayurveda Union of Midwest, VT Seva, Sewa USA, Lake County Indians Association, Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Mandi Theater, Best Brains Buffalo Grove, Maharashtra Mandal of Chicago, Friends of Madhya Pradesh in IL, Chinmaya Mission - Yamunotri, U S Kids 4 Water, Art4Hearts, Sanjeevani, A3N Media, ANCSOS, Chicago Agrawal Association, HSS - Buffalo Grove, & AIANA (Alliance of Indian Americans of Naperville Area).
Members of the community were invited to join us with family and friends to celebrate the joy and gift of yoga for physical, mental, and spiritual wellness.
General timeline of the program on June 20, 2026 (Rotary Village Green, 265 N. Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove, IL, 60089):
8:00 - 8:15 a.m. - Check-in
8:15 - 9:15 a.m. - Yoga (warm-ups, Asana, Pranayama, Meditation, Laughter).
9:15 - 9:45 a.m. - Prize Distribution for the Speech, Poster, and Yogasana Contests
9:45 - 10 a.m. - Wind up
Yoga session was led by Vidya Nahar (vyayam.com) and Anitha Bellary (poornamidam.org).

Free Sunrise Yoga in the Park ( https://tinyurl.com/sunriseyoga26 ) was organized on all Fridays in June from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m.
Free Poster ( https://tinyurl.com/idy26poster ) and Speech ( https://tinyurl.com/idy26speech ) contests were organized for kids and adults in association with National India Hub and Raupp Museum, on the topic of Yoga for Wisdom, Wellness, and World Peace to celebrate the 12th International Day of Yoga.

Poster contest entries in each age category of the poster contest were displayed at Raupp Museum of Buffalo Grove June 1-30.
Speech contest took place at the National India Hub (930 National Parkway, Schaumburg, IL 60173) on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at 3 p.m.
Winners were announced, and prizes were distributed at the Community Yoga event on June 20.
