AAAE Southern Region Conference, January 30 - February 4, 2025. Our project presented a poster on "Bridging the Skills Gap: Digital Badges for Employability in Agriculture."
Virginia Association of Agricultural Educators (VAAE) Winter In-service, January 17, 2025. Project team members facilitated two workshops: "Bridging the Skills Gap: Digital Badges for Employability in Agriculture" and "Integrating Employability Skills Into Agricultural Courses Using the PDSA Model of Improvement."
North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA) Conference, June 24-28, 2024. This conference focuses on the scholarship of teaching and learning in agriculture and related disciplines. Project team members facilitated a workshop on "Integrating Employability Skills Into Agricultural Courses Using the PDSA Model of Improvement." Heather Butler presented a talk on "Peer and Cross-Institutional Support for Enhancing Employability Skills."
VCCS Peer Group Meeting, January 12, 2024.
Faculty with the Virginia Community College System (VCCS) launched a new Peer-to-Peer Connection Group for Agriculture and Food Systems. AWT4CL cohort members also shared insights from their PDSA projects and the implementation of learning badges. The group identified opportunities for further collaboration across VCCS.
Association of Leadership Educators (ALE), July 16-19, 2023. Members of the project team facilitated a roundtable discussion centered around "Cases in Agricultural Leadership: An Open Access Book Opportunity."
Summer Cohort Trifecta, June 28, July 12, and July 26, 2023. These three meetings brought the cohort together to (1) reflect on the process, (2) share insights on ongoing work, and (3) develop and expand on plans for Fall, 2023.
North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA) Conference, June 20-24, 2023. This conference focuses on the scholarship of teaching and learning in agriculture and related disciplines. Project team members presented on "Essential Ingredients for Seasoned Teaching."
Winter Cohort Connection, January 13, 2023. The new year started with a cohort connection. It was a great opportunity to share and reflect on the work being done.
International Leadership Association, October 13-16, 2022. This conference focuses on leadership practice and theory and includes an international membership from disciplines spanning the private, public, and academic sectors. The project presented "Envisioning a Future Workforce: Developing Durable Skills and Networks for Collaborative Leadership."
Engagement Scholarship Consortium (ESC), September 21-22, 2022. This conference focuses building strong university-community partnerships and associated scholarship to help build community capacity. This project will showcase "Enhancing Workforce Readiness Through a Convergence of Networks and Collaborative Leadership."
Association of Leadership Educators (ALE), June 26-29, 2022. This conference focuses on the field of leadership and building leadership capacity. This project will present on "Building Durable Skills and Networks: Leadership Educators' Contributions to Workforce Readiness."
North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA), June 20-24, 2022. This conference focuses on the scholarship of teaching and learning in agriculture and related disciplines. This project presented on "Agriculture Workforce Stakeholders Highlight Importance of Durable Skills and Networks."
American Association for Agriculture Educators (AAAE), May 16-19, 2022. AAAE is a national society for social science scholarship in food, agriculture and natural resources. Our project presented on "Building Professional Collaborations between Community College and Land Grant University Faculty."
World Future Forum, April 22, 2022. This conference focuses on student success, and we presented on "Workforce Readiness Through Leadership-as-Practice Development (LaPD)."
New Horizons, April 6-8, 2022. The New Horizons Conference is organized for Virginia's Community College System. We hosted a panel discussion entitled "Agriculture Workforce Training for Collaborative Leadership in Agriculture and Beyond."
