AWT4CL Update for March 2025
Human Work: While agriculture certainly requires care of plants, animals, and the environment, what distinguishes the most successful agricultural professionals from others is often their durable skills in working with other humans. For more insight, check out the recent America Succeeds post by Tim Taylor: “The Future of Work is Human: Why Durable Skills are the Key to Workforce Success.”
Behavioral Interviews: How do you respond when someone says, “Tell me about a time when…”? One helpful approach is to structure the reply with STAR: Situation, Task, Action, Result. For more insight, check out AgHires blog post on “How to Answer Behavioral Interview Questions Using the STAR Method.”
Learning Badge Implementation: As our work AWT4CL employability skill badges progresses, we want to hear what is working and where more support is needed. If you have already completed the Welcome Module, the next place to go for support is the Digital Learning Badges Implementation Guide.
Sharing Resources: As part of efforts to expand the reach and application of AWT4CL efforts, we recently presented a poster for the annual meeting of the American Association for Agricultural Education (AAAE) Southern Region. The poster was on “Bridging the Skills Gap: Digital Badges for Employability in Agriculture.” Who do you know that needs to learn more about these resources?
