Rig Builder is an expedited way of running character setup and rigging that follows the same skeleton naming convention as an existing character setup.
To create Rig Builder files you will need a character that has been manually setup via Helix Rigger and the Region Editor.
Additional Details:
Rig Builder Files - How Rig Builder auto populates the Template tabs and rigging templates.
Rig Builder Details - Details panel of the UI.
Rig Builder uses a pre-defined settings .json file and rigging .json files together to quickly apply Region Markup to a new character skeleton based on joint naming conventions. Any skeleton joints that match the naming of joints within settings_default.json will be auto setup and rigged without manually defining Regions.
This can become particularly useful for automating partial character setup, for example, having a Rig Builder template for the core joints of bipedal characters that could be applied to any alien/creature that has the same core joints.
Build Template - Applies the selected rig template to a character in the scene.
If Helix Rigger is open Rig Builder will apply rigging to the active character in the Helix Rigger UI
If Helix Rigger is closed Rig Builder and there is only 1 character in the scene rigging will be applied to that character automatically
If there are multiple characters in the scene Rig Builder will apply to the character based on which character the user has selected in the scene.
