Export Asset

An Export Asset is an individual object in the Maya scene that should be exported. For animation these are either character or prop skeletons.

Right Clicking an Asset will bring up the Export Asset/Group Menu

Move the selected Asset up or down in the Asset List

  • Filter - Only display Assets that have names that contain the entered filter string.

  • Asset List - List of all Export Assets in the scene.

    • Export Checkbox - Sets whether or not this Asset should export with the currently selected Export Group. Separately set-able for each Export Group.

  • Create Asset - Create a new Export Asset from the first selected item in the scene.

    • For animation assets the root skeleton joint should be selected.

  • Asset Type Dropdown - The type of asset to create.

    • Static Mesh - Untested - Static mesh object without a skeleton or animation.

    • Character - Untested - Character meshes and skeleton without animation.

    • Character Animation - An animated character or object with a skeleton.

    • Dynamic Animation - An animated object that is running scene dynamics. The exporter will evaluate 100 frames before the start of the export frame range to pre-warm the simulation before export.
