Artwork Description: The theatrics of zoning reform take a similar form to those in the past around gay marriage. There is a “dream” whose legal supremacy must be maintained, a normative sacrosanctity surrounding the single-detached dwelling. "It's fine, just don't do it in my neighbourhood, or near my kids". As our urban fabric deconstructs, we stitch it, reconstitute it, reiterate it in desperation. But these are tedious and futile band-aids imposed atop an archaic dream that is losing / has lost its believability.

Artist's Bio: Mabel Seventeen* Maya is a loving girlfriend and aspiring wife. It is a good girl and terrible dog. She is a motherless daughter and has been a fatherless son. It is an 'object' that perceives itself to be a 'subject,' subjected to definitions conceived by contrived conceptions. It does not believe. In God or death, in love or hate or fate or a life well-lived, what does it mean to believe? If everything is a particle that is a wave, if everything is a balanced equation: Isn't it weird to be afraid of the dark? Isn't it weird? Is it weird? It's weird but warm and welcoming. It's weird but loving and loved.

Artist's statement:  You shall not murder... But in the cities of these peoples that the Lord your God is giving you for an inheritance, you shall save alive nothing that breathes, but you shall devote them to complete destruction, as the Lord your God has commanded, they shall fall by the sword; their little ones shall be dashed in pieces (lol), and their pregnant women ripped open (lmao), fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, an seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem; their blood is upon them, oh, oh, and by the way: If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; surely one of them is gonna experience twink-death, so just pray for them.
