Time launch lesson

I love teaching time as it is a great opportunity to link together other maths objectives such as fractions and the 5 and 6x table.

I always launch time by giving the children the sheet 'A Picture of a Day' which I developed from the book

Mathematics Explained to Primary Teachers by Derek Haylock

I find it to be an effective lead into children understanding time intervals, what times they do different activities, how long they sleep for, the fact that a clock will display the same time twice in 24 hours and also how to read a 24 hour clock.
