Support sheets - blank

BLANK support.docx

These sheets can be used in different ways - for instance, to introduce a times table children can colour code in green, orange or red to show how confident they are. If they colour a fact green, I ask them it whilst covering the answer. I only let them have green if they can recall the answer without having to count up on their fingers! They also need to know the associative division fact.

You could then almost use these as a before/after assessment. You can check children's confidence on the table before teaching it was 3-4 weeks, and then after the 4 weeks. At this point it will be a good idea to give them a test.

These support sheets can also be used as interventions. If children don't get above 36/40 in the x and Ă· test, they can work with the teacher in 10 minutes whilst the others are reading to work on drawing arrays to commit these facts to memory.
