Counting in fractions

I started the lesson by asking children what comes between 1 and 2. It was truly fascinating seeing what they came up with!

A few of the children drew lots of little lines along the number line.

Below are my scrawlings on the IWB based on the children's discussions so apologies for the mess of it but you get the idea!

This led into a discussion about little infinities!

The children had to split the bars underneath into fours to then complete the number line.
