Between Celilo and Spanish Hollow in Biggs, most people I've talked to assume that this is the original Columbia River Highway, but in reality is it the improved US 30 "water-level route." While this highway does closely follow the original Route 2 alignment, in the process of straightening out the old road's kinks and widening it for larger trucks and heavier traffic, most of the original was destroyed.

From here east, as in the Lower Highway maps, Blue lines will show where the US 30 Water-Level Route and Route 2 mostly overlap.
