While I am still not really working on the Old Oregon Trail Highway east of Pendleton yet, I did map out the surviving, drivable sections today and was surprised by how much of the old road still exists out there.
Hopefully, someday soon, I will have some time and opportunity to get out east exploring more of this highway. I've covered Emigrant Hill to Emigrant Springs pretty well, and I'll add material on those segments sooner, but the rest of the old highway east of there, over the Blue Mountains and on down south to Ontario and the state line is new territory for me. I've sped by on the interstate more times than I could count, but I've never taken the older, slower routes before.
