Laurie is a Licensed Social Worker and Teacher for the State of New Jersey. She holds a Master of Social Work degree from Rutgers The State University of New Jersey and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology and Elementary Education from The College of Saint Elizabeth. Laurie specializes in using the interventions of Problem Solving and Motivational approach techniques to help clients cope with stress, set attainable goals, and realize the changes needed to be made within their daily lives by using self-determination and empathy. She also has expertise in applying a Trauma-Informed Care approach when working with clients to help stabilize crisis, utilize supportive resources through protective factors, and restore clients to function at equilibrium. Laurie is passionate about empowering clients to practice self-help skills as they continue to strengthen their self-worth, confidence, and self-esteem. She holds certifications in Violence Against Women and Children, Youth Mental Health First Aid, and state mandated Domestic/Sexual Violence Advocacy for Confidential Crisis Responses.
