Bio:
He is the father of Yoritomo and Yoshitsune and was the head of the Minamoto clan and a general. He was once the ally of Kiyomori and Emperor Go-Shirakawa during the Hogen Rebellion in 1156. He also led the Heiji Rebellion in 1159 against the royal family but then was defeated by the Taira clan.
