Name: Fujiwara no Tashi (藤原 多子)
Birth/ Death: (1136-1201)
Appearance: Book 1 Episode 7; Book 5 Episode 2
Bio:
Also called "Her Grand Imperial Majesty" within "The Tale of the Heike." Daughter of Lord Kin'yoshi, the Oi-no-mikado right minister, she was appointed empress by Konoe of the Genji in 1150. After the Heike took over during the Hogen Years (1156-59), she returned home Konoe-kawara and was no longer an empress. His Majesty of the Heike had a court official scouting the land for prospects and wanted Fujiwara no Tashi to enter palace service again. She rejected his love letters and ignored until His Majesty issued a decree demanding that she enter the Palace. The retired emperor disapproved of this and tried to reason with his son to not have her come to the palace, but His Majesty ignored him. Sad and heart broken, she had no choice but become empress again, but this time for the Heike.
In Book 5 episode 2: "Moon viewing", she appeared as the empress mother, also the sister of Lord Sanesada. She still lived in the old and desolate capital while Sanesada went to see her on August 10th. She was playing the biwa and was surprised to see Sanesada because few people visit the abandoned place.
