Book Eleven details the final battle between the Heike and the Genji. The Heike are defeated, and the rest of the book details the final days of the remaining prominent Heike members. Despite his role in the defeat of the Heike, Yoshitsune falls out of his brother, Yoritomo's, favor due to rumors. The book concludes with the executions of Munemori and Shigehira.
The first five episodes detail the opening stages of the final battle between the Heike and Kuro Yoshitsune. These episodes show that the Heike are quickly the end of their reign.
The Heike's final naval battle is contained in these three episodes. As former allies join Kuro Yoshitsune, many of the Heike come to realize that their end has come.
The remaining members of the Heike are publicly shamed, and many are executed. The Genji enjoy the rewards of their victory. However, the relationship between Yoshitsune and Yoritomo begins to break down.
